Dr. Carol Wheeler is a leadership keynote speaker, consultant, former professor, and author of The Connected Leader, specializing in manager development and team alignment. For more than 25 years she has studied, taught, and practiced leadership development. Today she works with non-profits and the organizations that serve alongside them — including municipal government and higher education — across Texas and beyond.
As founder of NopaLeadership, Dr. Wheeler created the Clarity × Connection = Commitment™ framework to address two critical drivers of workplace effectiveness. Clarity ensures managers understand expectations, strengths, roles, and strategy. Connection builds the trust, relational intelligence, and shared language teams need to collaborate and execute. It is a multiplication, not a list — a zero on either side zeros the result. Mission-driven organizations are usually rich in connection and poor in clarity, and that is where the work begins.
